Out in the Community

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is a time to recognize the courage of people who have said “no” to violence and to spread awareness about domestic violence emergency shelters and services.  Silence hides violence, but we all can act to stand against violence and speak out on this issue. #DVAMTurns30

Domestic violence organizations and advocates alike spread awareness about the domestic violence epidemic in our country. 1 in 3 women have been physically abused by an intimate partner. For 1 in 5, the abuse is severe.  CADV will join forces with our many allies in the fight against violence during this month. Please join us at any of the events listed below.

When adults enter our shelters, it is our priority to respect the client’s starting point. Basic human psychological needs are Safety, Trust, Independence, Power, Esteem, & Intimacy. Violence inflicted by loved ones has serious altering impacts to the psyche, causing hazardous and detrimental trauma to victims. We listen to victims, know where they are coming from and help them rebuild their life.
