During this week long national education initiative, young people demonstrate the positive role they can have in making their schools and communities safer. The Center Against Domestic Violence promotes social change through education. The Center’s groundbreaking programs for students from elementary school through high school teach young people how to identify and avoid domestic violence and develop healthy relationships.

The Center is kicking off its third annual city-wide teen relationship abuse prevention poster contest.  Starting during National Youth Violence Prevention Week, the winning posters will be announce din April, during National Crime Victims Week.

The Center is cosponsoring the New York City Healthy Teen Relationship Conference to bring youth and youth service providers together to explore teen relationships and strategies to end abuse.  Registration is open during National Youth Violence Prevention Week. The Healthy Teens Relationship Conference will take place at ACS Children’s Center, 392 First Avenue on April 2. The Center is a part of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority’s H3: Healthy Choices – Healthy Living – Healthy Generations – It’s All About Me, on Saturday, March 28 at the New School for Leadership and Journalism, 120 West 231 Street, Bronx.  At this day of fun and learning, the Center will present workshops about teen relationships.
